Perfecto Project App
Combining narrative theory, social-psychology, and UX research, the Perfecto Project examines the impacts of a smartphone-based health app for motivating elderly Latinx people who are seeking to increase their physical activity for better health. This project builds on WhoIsZuki, a previous research study that demonstrates the efficacy of narrative-based feedback for increasing physical activity among smartphone app users.
This app is targeted to Mexican-origin people, especially those who may be pre-diabetic, and it currently involves an interdisciplinary development team that includes computer scientists, medical researchers, and a Chicana novelist. My main role is illustrating the panels for the app, reworking the interface, as well as advising the team on the visual narrative.
